GRE quantitative section is comprised almost entirely of concepts taught in high school mathematics. ETS divides these concepts into four broad content areas, namely arithmetic, algebra, geometry and data analysis. This is the fourth and final part of a comprehensive guide covering these four areas:

# IV. DATA ANALYSIS

**Basic Stats:**This includes qualitative and quantitative understanding of the mean, median, mode, range, standard deviation, inter-quartile range, quartiles & percentiles.**Interpretation of Data in Tables & Graphs:**Graphs include line graphs, bar graphs, circle graphs, box plots, scatter plots, and frequency distributions.**Counting Methods:**Methods of counting such as permutations, combinations and Venn Diagrams are tested.**Probability:**Elementary concepts such as probabilities of independent and compound events are tested.**Normal Distribution:**Random variables and probability distributions, including normal distributions are tested.

Trigonometry, calculus or any high level mathematics is not tested.
